SEN Teaching Assistant | Birmingham, B21 | £90 - £105 per day | ASAP Start

LTF Recruitment is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with SEN, to join a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) within a mainstream Primary School in Handsworth. This role involves providing both one-on-one support and working with small groups of pupils that require extra support to meet their learning objectives. This position is long-term, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

What are we looking for?

  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or a similar relevant qualification.
  • Relevant experience working with SEN students in a school environment.
  • Qualifications such as TeamTeach or training in Positive Behaviour Management are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, with expertise in non-verbal methods like Makaton and PECS being highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to provide support to SEN pupils in one-on-one, small group, and whole-class settings.
  • A strong team player, able to work effectively with colleagues and follow the class teacher's instructions.
  • Experienced in managing, updating, and reviewing the progress of EHCPs.
