Are you experienced in supporting children with SEN and SEMH needs? Are you seeking a rewarding new role in the new year?

LTF Recruitment is looking for a nurturing and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Key Stage Two team at a two-form entry Junior School in Kings Norton. This role offers a long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

About the Role

You will play a key role in supporting two children in Year 3 with SEN and SEMH needs, including:

  • Assisting one child with Autism, potential ADHD, and significant communication challenges.
  • Supporting the second child with SEMH needs through play-based activities and meaningful learning breaks.
  • Working closely with the class teacher to provide tailored classroom support.
  • Delivering targeted interventions, such as Speech and Language therapy, phonics sessions, and activities to develop gross and fine motor skills.
The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working 2:1 with children with SEN and SEMH (e.g., ASD, Speech & Language Needs).
  • Is skilled in managing behaviour using effective behavioural strategies.
  • Has knowledge of the UK Key Stage One and Two curriculum.
  • Holds TA qualifications or a relevant degree.
  • Can work effectively as part of a team.
