SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Handsworth, Birmingham B21
Day Rate: 90-105
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Long Term Futures is looking for a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partner primary school in Handsworth, supporting pupils within a Resource Base for SEN. This role is perfect for someone dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children with SEN. The successful candidate will be instrumental in helping students navigate challenges and succeed both academically and socially. This long-term role offers the potential to transition into a permanent position for the ideal candidate.

The Role:

Offer one-to-one support to pupils with SEN, ensuring consistent boundaries are maintained to effectively manage challenging behaviours.
Collaborate with teaching staff to create and apply strategies that encourage positive behavioural outcomes.
Promote active participation in classroom activities, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
Provide personalised interventions designed to improve students' learning, emotional wellbeing, and personal development.

What we are looking for:

Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a relevant degree.
Have experience working within a primary school environment.
Additional training such as TeamTeach or Positive Behaviour Management is highly advantageous.
Proven ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
Experience in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
