Long Term Futures is looking for a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partner primary school in Handsworth, supporting pupils within a Resource Base for SEN. This role is perfect for someone dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children with SEN. The successful candidate will be instrumental in helping students navigate challenges and succeed both academically and socially. This long-term role offers the potential to transition into a permanent position for the ideal candidate.

The Role:

  • Offer one-to-one support to pupils with SEN, ensuring consistent boundaries are maintained to effectively manage challenging behaviours.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create and apply strategies that encourage positive behavioural outcomes.
  • Promote active participation in classroom activities, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
  • Provide personalised interventions designed to improve students' learning, emotional wellbeing, and personal development.

What we are looking for:

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a relevant degree.
  • Have experience working within a primary school environment.
  • Additional training such as TeamTeach or Positive Behaviour Management is highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
  • Experience in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
