Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic resource base in a welcoming primary school in the Rotton Park area of Birmingham.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting children with ASD, ADHD, sensory needs, and preverbal communication. You will work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to provide tailored support, helping each child thrive in their learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support within the resource base
  • Use sensory strategies to support engagement and learning
  • Assist with PECS, Makaton, or alternative communication methods
  • Implement EHCP strategies to meet individual needs

We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with SEN children, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, sensory needs, or preverbal communication
  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred, but candidates with relevant experience and qualifications are encouraged to apply
  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting SEN learners
  • Knowledge of visual aids, structured learning, and de-escalation techniques is a bonus
