Hays Education are supporting a local school in recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work with them in the first instance, till the end of this term. This role is to start immediately and could be extended into the new year. The details are as follows:

  • The school is located in south Birmingham and describe themselves as a focussed and dedicated school who have young people at the centre of their ethos
  • Caters for children at KS4 level with social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH)
  • The role entails supporting children in class who have SEMH and some other additional SEN
  • School will support training candidates who may not have experience of working in these kinds of settings
  • The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and SEMH
  • You will be able to demonstrate the key competencies of working with children with SEMH and also de-escalation techniques
  • Hays Education will be able to obtain recent satisfactory references that reflect this experience
