SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Yardley, Birmingham B25
Day Rate: 100 - 110
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm
Long Term Futures is looking for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, and communication difficulties, at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Yardley, Birmingham B25. This long-term role has the potential to become permanent for a candidate who is committed to promoting a structured and nurturing learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support, ensuring pupils can access learning in a way that suits their individual needs
- Implement strategies to aid communication, sensory regulation, and emotional well-being
- Use visual aids, structured routines, and positive reinforcement to encourage engagement and independence
- Support pupils through transitions and routine changes, reducing anxiety and promoting stability
- Apply positive behaviour management strategies to de-escalate situations and encourage self-regulation
Candidate Requirements:
- A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent experience in an SEN setting)
- Experience working with children with ASD, ADHD, and other complex learning needs
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, sensory strategies, and structured interventions is desirable
- A solid understanding of safeguarding procedures and best practices in child protection
