Your new companyHays are working with an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' school who are looking for a SENCO to start from January 2025. The school is situated in Edgbaston and the staff are welcoming and friendly. This is a temp to perm position. The school are willing to take someone who either has a SENCO qualification, or someone who has previous experience working as a SENCO.Your new roleThis non-class-based SENCO role is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dedicated and motivated team in a mainstream primary school. Their aim is to make progress and provide key strategies and targets to raise attainment.The school are looking for someone with experience of helping pupils make progress and has a proven track record in effective assessment and accelerated learning for pupils.What you'll need to succeed

  • Maintaining an accurate SEND register and provision map.
  • Ensuring the timely and efficient administration of EHCP and SSPP applications.
  • Seeking out and secure funding were available to support SEND pupils.
  • Analysing assessment data for SEND pupils.
  • Implementing and leading intervention groups for SEND pupils and evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Determining the strategic development of special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) policy and provision in the school.
  • Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual SEND pupils.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies.
