LTF Recruitment is looking for a calm and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) within a mainstream primary school near the Handsworth area. This role focuses on providing personalised one-to-one support, delivering targeted interventions, and assisting small groups of pupils. Offered initially as a long-term position, there is potential for this role to transition into a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group support tailored to SEN pupils.
  • Encourage and assist SEN students in engaging with lessons and accessing the curriculum.
  • Provide help with literacy, numeracy, and other classroom tasks.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to ensure effective lesson delivery and pupil support.

What are we looking for?

  • A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent degree.
  • Relevant experience working with SEN learners in an educational setting.
  • Experience supporting SEN pupils on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, and within whole-class environments.
  • Additional qualifications such as TeamTeach or Positive Behaviour Management training are highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience in non-verbal methods like Makaton and PECS being a significant advantage.
  • A team player who works effectively with colleagues and follows the class teacher's instructions.
