Teaching Assistant – Special Needs SchoolAre you a Teaching Assistant who loves supporting children with special educational needs, making school a nurturing environment, and breaking down barriers to learning? This wonderful, vibrant, and welcoming Special School is looking for a Teaching Assistant to provide whole class support for children with a range of special educational needs including Autism, MLD, and Complex Learning needs. This school has a wonderful reputation for making learning accessible for students’ children of all abilities.As a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will be working with small classes on a 1-2-1 and group basis, assisting the class teacher in ensuring that the needs of children are met.  This role requires a Teaching Assistant who has previous experience supporting children with special needs and loves what they do! You will be joining an experienced team of Teaching Assistants and Classroom Assistants who go above and beyond to provide children with an excellent education and a nurturing learning environment.Job Role:
  • Supporting Children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Working with a team of Teaching Assistants and Classroom Assistants to plan group activities and support children’s needs.
  • Providing 1-2-1 assistants / intervention for children who are struggling in class.
  • Making learning fun and engaging for pupils.
  • Supporting an experienced class teacher in delivering lessons and managing behaviours where required.
Requirements:
  • You must hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Classroom Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 months experience supporting children with special educational needs.
  • A Valid DBS that is on the update service, or be willing to get one.
  • Understanding of the Classroom Assistant / Teaching Assistant role.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
