Smart Education is recruiting for a Complex Needs Lead Supervisor to join a specialist college in Birmingham, supporting students aged 14 to 25 with autism and complex needs.

Requirements:
  • Qualifications: QTS or equivalent and degree-level education.
  • Experience: Significant background working with children with complex needs and leading teams in special education.
  • Knowledge:
    • Safeguarding legislation and procedures.
    • Curriculum planning, including the National Curriculum.
    • Phonics programs and behavior management strategies.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and the ability to create tailored educational plans.
  • Professional Development: Recent training in special educational needs.
  • Collaboration: Experience working with external agencies on EHCP processes.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise a team delivering high-quality education and care.
  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans for students.
  • Collaborate with external professionals to support EHCPs.
  • Ensure curriculum planning meets National Curriculum standards and student needs.
  • Promote safeguarding and create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students' academic, social, and personal growth to enhance independence.
