Learning Mentor - KS2Location: Bordesley Green, Birmingham, B9Pay Scale: £100 - £105 per dayDuration: Temporary to PermanentStart Date: ASAP

Long Term Futures is currently seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to support KS2 students, focusing on their academic and personal development. This full-time role involves working 5 days per week, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm during term time, within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Bordesley Green.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to KS2 pupils, including those with SEN and behavioral needs.
  • Deliver targeted interventions in small groups to help students reach their potential.
  • Offer one-to-one mentoring for children with autism, ADHD, or low learning levels.
  • Utilize your creativity to engage and inspire pupils in their learning journey.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and school SENCO to track progress and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Support students working below age-expected levels as well as those exceeding expectations.
  • Help foster a positive and inclusive learning environment aligned with the school's values.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold a relevant degree or teaching assistant qualification.
  • Have experience working with children in a school setting, particularly in KS2.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of SEN and behavioral needs (experience with DSL duties is a plus).
  • Be adaptable and responsive to individual student needs.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
