We are on the look-out for a Special Needs Class Teacher from dedicated professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality education to students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching students with conditions such as Autism, ADHD, Challenging Behaviour and will be committed to helping each student reach their full potential.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students.
  • Implement and review Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure they meet the evolving needs of students.
  • Develop and manage a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and suitable for the needs of students with SEN.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage and motivate students, while fostering their independence.
  • Assess and record studentsā€™ progress, adapting teaching methods to facilitate learning and development.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, other teachers, and professionals to optimize support for each student.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers to inform them of progress and to support studentsā€™ learning and well-being at home.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a strong track record in SEN education/ Cover Supervisor/ HLTA
  • Experience in teaching students with autism, ADHD, and anxiety is highly desirable.
  • A thorough understanding of the current curriculum and best practices in SEN education.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN teaching strategies.
  • A dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
