Tradewind are working with a special school in Erdington which provide specialist support or secondary-aged pupils with a range of needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This position is for daily supply.

The Role:

  • Deliver personalised and engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with MLD, ASC, SLD, and SEMH.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other staff to provide a consistent, supportive learning experience.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and communication methods, including visual aids, sensory tools, and assistive technology.
  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where pupils feel confident and encouraged to participate.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet individual learning goals.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with pupils with MLD, ASC, SLD, and/or SEMH is preferred.
  • A strong understanding of differentiated teaching strategies and behaviour management techniques.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and the emotional well-being of all pupils.
