Salary between £38,212-£43,005 for full time (36 hours per week)
About you:
The BDA is seeking a committed and experienced trade union official to lead on organising members and growing our activist base.
The post holder will work within the Trade Union and Public Affairs Directorate of the BDA to support the objectives and priorities of the Trade Union National Executive Committee. They will possess the skills to plan and deliver campaigns and have a strong commitment to trade union values, including equality and democracy.
An understanding of the UK health environment, particularly the allied health professions would be beneficial along with knowledge of the workings of the TUC and other sister organisations.

About the role:
This role will be office based in Central Birmingham for a minimum of 2 days a week (with some hybrid working from home).Â
The post holder will occasionally be required to travel around the UK, outside of office hours, however time off in lieu will be available. Â

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate in their application that they:
- Have excellent communication skills Have a proven track record of problem solving
- Are resilient, empathic and competent to deal with sensitive and complex queries from members
- Understand the structure of the NHS and Trade Unions and have demonstrable relevant skills
- Have experience of advising Trade Union members in employment matters, or similar
- Have a basic understanding of Trade Union law and recognition of the importance of the TUC in the UK. Have excellent IT and data management skills
- Are interested in a role where they can ‘make a difference’.Â
