Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Audio-visual Equipment Auditor to join our IT Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for auditing the university's audio-visual equipment to ensure accuracy across our hardware asset management system, and ultimately optimal performance and reliability. This role involves conducting inspections across 500+ AV-enabled environments, identifying and recording details of components, and raising calls where issues are present.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of audio-visual equipment across various university facilities, including classrooms, lecture theatres, and meeting rooms.
  • Update the Hardware Asset Management system with identifying metadata, including component types, serial numbers and asset numbers.
  • Asset tag and accurately record any AV components not yet in the system or without an existing tag number.
  • Document and report any equipment malfunctions, damages, or discrepancies in the ITSM system.
  • Collaborate with local support IT and timetabling teams to ensure complete coverage of all AV spaces and access around teaching.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical skills and ability to differentiate different types of IT hardware
  • Ideally, prior knowledge of audio-visual systems and components.
  • Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
