Exciting Opportunity for Registered Scrub Nurse (Band 5) - In the Birmingham Area

MedicsPro are seeking experienced Scrub Nurses - Band 5 with recent NHS experience, who are looking for flexible extra shifts or full-time agency work within the Birmingham Area. We have opportunities for both long day and night shifts.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) or The Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Flexibility to respond to the needs of the department
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Current upto date references- covering the previous 3 years
  • BLS
  • EPP Immunisations

Preferable Experience:

Minimum 1year recent UK experience working as a scrub nurse within the NHS

Qualifications:

Completed adult nursing degree

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare instruments and set up surgical equipment to ensure a sterile and efficient environment.
  • Assist in positioning, preparing, and draping patients according to surgical procedures.
  • Support the surgical team by scrubbing in for surgery and anticipating the surgeon’s needs for equipment and instruments.
  • Label and document medications and other items used in the operating room accurately.
  • Monitor and record the patient’s respiratory and cardiovascular signs throughout the procedure.
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons and the surgical team to ensure smooth and successful operations.
  • Consider potential complications and develop a plan of action for any necessary lifesaving measures.
  • Maintain strict hygiene standards, including washing hands and arms with surgical soap before and after procedures.
