Exciting Opportunity for Registered Scrub Nurse (Band 5) - In the Birmingham Area
MedicsPro are seeking experienced Scrub Nurses - Band 5 with recent NHS experience, who are looking for flexible extra shifts or full-time agency work within the Birmingham Area. We have opportunities for both long day and night shifts.
Job Requirements:
- Strong communication skills
- Right to work in the UK
- Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) or The Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Flexibility to respond to the needs of the department
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Current upto date references- covering the previous 3 years
- BLS
- EPP Immunisations
Preferable Experience:
Minimum 1year recent UK experience working as a scrub nurse within the NHS
Qualifications:
Completed adult nursing degree
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare instruments and set up surgical equipment to ensure a sterile and efficient environment.
- Assist in positioning, preparing, and draping patients according to surgical procedures.
- Support the surgical team by scrubbing in for surgery and anticipating the surgeon’s needs for equipment and instruments.
- Label and document medications and other items used in the operating room accurately.
- Monitor and record the patient’s respiratory and cardiovascular signs throughout the procedure.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons and the surgical team to ensure smooth and successful operations.
- Consider potential complications and develop a plan of action for any necessary lifesaving measures.
- Maintain strict hygiene standards, including washing hands and arms with surgical soap before and after procedures.
