Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Salary: £46,148 - £52,809 DOE (Pro Rata) + £300 Welcome Bonus
Hours: Flexible working hours available.
Our private sector client are recruiting a Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to support their rehab centre in Birmingham on a permanent basis.
Their Birmingham site is a brain injury rehabilitation centre where people initially come for a 12-week assessment period, where they begin a rehabilitation period to support their recovery after a brain injury.
You will work as part of an multi/interdisciplinary team providing speech and language therapy input within the BIRT Neurobehavioural model to People We Support with acquired brain injury and to lead on SaLT provision within the service.
Key responsibilities:
- Apply the neurobehavioural approach to brain injury, demonstrating knowledge of current research findings, and best practice in the field.
- Manage and prioritise a caseload of People We Support with complex mental/physical health needs and/or challenging behaviour.
- Use evidence-based practice, service user centred principles and clinical reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate intervention.
Requirements:
- Hold a degree in Speech and Language Therapy, registered with the HCPC.
- Able to manage complex dysphagia within an adult neurology caseload
- Minimum 4 years qualified experience encompassing complex case management
