  • The role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing fire safety in construction and working at height activities.
  • Key responsibilities include setting up site fire safety systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and coordinating fire marshal management.
  • The position offers a competitive salary of £45,000 to £55,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Candidates must possess a CSCS Managers Card, SMSTS certification, and demonstrate strong leadership and multitasking abilities.

Our client is oa leading infrastructure developer. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fire and Working at Height Coordinator based in Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Set up of site fire safety systems including main and satellite accommodation
  • Ensuring compliance with the Mace fire standard, HSG168 and the JCoP 10th edition
  • Coordination of liaison and visits with the local WMFS stations
  • Management of the MDJV fire marshals
  • Coordinate the development of the project working at Height plan in line with the Working at Height Standard.
  • Confirm that the Working at Height Plan is reviewed by the project team each month and/or following a change to how working at height needs to occur. Include design requirements for eliminating the need to work at height, where possible

Technical Competencies and Qualifications

  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of and compliance with the Fire Standard & working at height standard.
  • Experience and history of working at height activities such as scaffolding.
  • Ability to use IT systems Yellowjacket management systems.
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask.
  • Team and leadership skills
  • Have demonstrated experience managing fire safety in construction
  • CSCS Managers Card holder
  • SMSTS
  • Management/Supervisor experience

Desirable:

  • Experience in project quality management
  • Principal Contractor Safety, Health and Environment experience
  • IEMA Certificate
  • D32/33/34 (A1/V1) Competency
