Your new companyA global manufacturing organisation who produce and supply specialist precision components into the engineering sector. Reporting to the Global Purchasing Director, they are recruiting a Strategic Commodity Manager, to join their internationally distributed procurement team. The role will be based from their offices in the Birmingham region and offers flexibility to work from home up to two days per week. Your new roleThe Strategic Commodity Manager will lead the development and implementation of category management strategies for key commodities across the global business. The post holder will partner key stakeholders, suppliers and the client to collaboratively create and deliver innovative solutions to maximise cost, to anticipate and mitigate risk, and to ensure quality fulfilment. The Strategic Commodity Manager will review and manage supplier performance against key targets including commercial costing, logistics and sustainability. The role will also initiate and deliver projects to drive continuous improvement and value creation. The role will include some international travel. What you'll need to succeedTo be successful, you will be a senior Commodity Manager, Category Manager or Procurement Manager with significant experience in the development and implementation of commodity strategy across a global organisation. You will have a strong background in the engineering, automotive or aerospace sectors. You will be able to demonstrate success in the delivery of procurement and commercial cost management. It is also essential that you have expertise in supplier management, cost estimation and contract management law.
