Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Specialist (EMEA)Location: Birmingham, UKSalary: £80K – £100K + Bonus + BenefitsHours: 08:30 – 17:00 (flexibility required)Contract: PermanentOur client, a reputable $1.6B global leader in Chemicals, Minerals, and Niche Products, supplies industries such as Construction, Agriculture, Steel, and Oil & Gas.We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager (EMEA) to oversee $20M in annual purchasing, driving supply chain optimisation, supplier relationships, and cost efficiencies across a fast-paced manufacturing environment.This role supports growth through strategic supplier management, ensuring material quality, and enhancing logistics efficiency.Key Responsibilities
  • S&OP Coordination: Align material supply with plant needs through Sales & Operations Planning.
  • Contract Negotiations: Lead supplier agreements and manage pricing/terms.
  • Sourcing Strategies: Develop and execute value-driven category management strategies.
  • Cost & Quality: Analyse costs, enforce material standards, and resolve quality issues.
  • Supplier Development: Qualify new suppliers to support growth and mitigate risk.
  • New Product Development: Collaborate with R&D on material/component qualifications.
  • Logistics & ISO Compliance: Coordinate overseas logistics and maintain ISO standards (ISO 9001/14001/45001).
Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in international, multi-site manufacturing (Steel, Mining, Refractories, or Chemicals preferred).
  • ERP Systems: Proficiency in ERP (Oracle E-Business Suite preferred) and MRP.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Expertise in Procure-to-Pay, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Communication: Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
