Supply Chain Manager
As a Supply Chain Manager you'll deliver the development, implementation and communication of supply chain activities, working collaboratively with appointed tier 1 contractors and partners to manage capacity for common supply chains, deliver market intelligence, facilitate co-ordinated contractor procurement and joint supplier development.
As a Supply Chain Manager, you will need to have/be:
- Analytical, commercial and negotiating skills.
- Ability to produce and present documents and reports to a variety of audiences, including internal stakeholders at various levels in the organisation.
- Stakeholder management skills - including the ability to establish, grow and develop effective strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively engage with both the awarded and potential supply chain, and with any related industry bodies and stakeholders.
- Project management skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or equivalent.
- Ability to manage meeting calendars and co-ordinating workshops / events.
- Knowledge of government initiatives, policies and best practice approaches relevant to SCM.
- Understanding of the commercial and contract delivery lifecycle including key activities during market engagement, procurement and delivery.
- Understanding of systems and reporting applications including procurement and commercial tools.
- Knowledge of applicable UK procurement legislation.
- Knowledge of different procurement routes.
- Understanding of project scheduling, planning and project management approaches and techniques.
- Experience of complex projects and analysing micro and macro sector developments.
- Experience of developing and implementing a supplier or stakeholder engagement programme.
- Experience of establishing and leading projects end-to-end.
Details:
* Rate: 500.00 - 650.00 per day (inside IR35)
* Working Hours: Full time Monday - Friday
* Location: Hybrid, Birmingham (2 days per week)
* Duration: Until end of June 2025
Role of Supply Chain Manager:
- Manage the assigned supply chain portfolio, collaborating with key contractors and relevant supply chain initiatives.
- Develop and deliver a supply chain engagement strategy to enable effective communication with suppliers within the portfolio.
- Conduct capability and capacity assessments to identify marketplace strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks, ensuring the organisation is a well-informed client.
- Foster strong, transparent relationships with the supply chain to enhance the organisation's market reputation.
- Perform detailed analyses on critical spend categories or commodities to identify strategic risks and opportunities.
- Lead meetings, workshops, and engagement events to support supply chain management delivery.
- Provide accurate, timely reporting in line with programme governance requirements.
- Collaborate across the Procurement and Supply Chain Directorate where cross-functional input is required.
