We are looking for an experienced Area Sales Engineer with a background in Switchgear, Transformers or similar Power Transmission and Distribution equipment to cover the Midlands and Northern Home Counties areaThe role will be home-office based but with regular visits to customers within the sales territory and monthly attendance at head office
The key customer base will be electrical contractors and companies that specialise in electrical power infrastructure construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales.
Your key responsibilities will be product sales, customer relationship management, technical support, market analysis, sales strategy, presentations & demonstrations, sales forecasting and reporting. This will involve:
- Promoting and selling transformers and switchgear to electrical contractors and end customers within the assigned region
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential customers
- Providing technical assistance and support to customers, ensuring they select the appropriate products for their needs.
- Conducting market analysis to identify new sales opportunities and trends within the industry
- Supporting the development of effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets and expanding market share
- Preparing and delivering product presentations and project solutions to customers and stakeholders.
- Preparing regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.
KEY SKILLS
To succeed in this role you will have experience of selling MV & HV Transformers and Switchgear or similar Electrical Equipment. You will also need be able to build and maintain strong relationships with customers with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth. You will need good analytical skills and be customer focused to ensure the most appropriate solution is provided to the customer. You will need good IT skills with experience of CRM / ERP systems and MS Office needed. The ability to analyse market trends and identify sales opportunities is needed as is a full UK Driving Licence and the ability to travel throughout the region (M62 to M4).
