Sales Engineer - Automation Specialist

The company work at the technology end of the manufacturing industry as leaders in the design and production of advanced automation solutions, working with market leading customers across sectors such as automotive, medical & food production. Their Solutions are both bespoke and off the shelf automated systems and robots.

You must already live in Birmingham to be considered for this role and have the right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship in the future.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident engineer to work at the cutting edge of the automation revolution in a company where the sales manager started as an apprentice.

The vacancy would suit an engineer with a HNC or degree in engineering; electrical, mechanical or mechatronics and with some sales experience within an engineering field such as automation products, special purpose machinery, capital equipment.

The Role

  • Working closely with Head of Sales for the preparation of customer proposals, negotiation of pricing
  • Proactively identify business opportunities and drive opportunities though telephone, video and in person meetings / presentations.
  • Identify and follow up leads for new business opportunities
  • Effectively manage customer and supplier issues
  • Provide input and support marketing initiatives and trade shows to actively promote the company

Whilst this isn't a highly target focused sales job, we do require someone confident to be proactive and work on own initiative. Full product training and support will be provided.

Requirements

HNC or graduate degree in engineering; electrical, mechanical or mechatronics

Previous technical sales experience - internal sales, field sales engineer, technical sales, account manager

Confident, proactive, technically competent

Full driving licence

Experience selling into automotive, medical or food industry beneficial

  • Salary 35K - 50K DoE
  • Company car
  • 25 days holiday
  • Hours 37 per week. Lunchtime finish Fridays
