- The position will require someone to design equipment layouts for the sales and project management teams.
- Create sales layouts with precise Bills of Materials (BOMs) for sales managers to use in quotations and presentations. Ensure all equipment is accurately sized and finished. The layout should meet the customer's requirements while adhering to engineering standards, delivering effective design solutions within established timeframes.
- Implement and manage a system for storing layouts created by yourself and Project Managers, ensuring each is associated with the relevant QU number. This will ensure all drawing requests are logged and completed within a central database.
- Work with standard engineering blocks to generate layouts to promote maximum use of standard products.
- Occasionally conduct site surveys at customer locations and accurately transfer the collected information into an AutoCAD layout
- Collaborate with engineering to review all types of food product applications for the equipment, including but not limited to conveying and distribution, seasoning and coating, weighing, processing, and packaging.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related engineering discipline).
- At least 3 years of design experience with some level of autonomy in special-purpose machine design or a manufacturing-related field.
- Auto Cad 2D and inventor 3D drawing to a high standard
- Exposure to the food and packaging industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of relevant materials and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to produce documentation suitable for manufacturing and installation personnel.
