Press Tool Setter - Days 07:30-16:15 (12:30 Friday)
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled Press Tool Setter to join a dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting and changing over press tools efficiently and safely, ensuring components meet the highest quality standards. You will play a key role in improving setup processes, reducing change-over times (SMED), and providing essential feedback on tooling issues to the Technical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tool Setting & Changeovers: Efficiently set and change over a variety of press tools across multiple presses, while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.
- Process Optimization: Continuously seek ways to enhance the setting process, minimize setup times, and contribute to problem-solving initiatives.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all Health & Safety protocols are followed during tool setting and machine operation.
- Production & Data Accuracy: Accurately record production data using the Navision system.
- Machine Minding: Oversee press operations when an operator is unavailable.
- Material Handling: Load and unload metal coils, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Tooling Management: Safely manage and transport heavy, high-value tooling using hydraulic equipment.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and development files.
- Workplace Organization: Champion 5S principles to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in problem-solving efforts and contribute to ongoing improvements in tooling and setup processes.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Ideally have)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in press tool setting.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts as required.
- Commitment to Lean Manufacturing principles and process improvements.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills for accurate data recording.
- Computer literate, with the ability to use production and reporting systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to support continuous improvement.
- Completion of ROSPA Press Setting Safety Course.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing environments.
- Manual handling training certification.
