Job Title: Setter

Location: Minworth

Working Hours: Rotational Shift 05:00 – 13:30 M-TH, 05:50 – 13:20 F / 13:00 – 21:00 M-F

 

 

Role Definition

 

The Setter is responsible for conducting tool changes, understanding and managing the parameters of injection moulding machines, and completing relevant documentation. This role includes supporting and training trainee setters while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Comply with all safety, quality, and work regulations, including machine safety checks and OHC checks.
  • Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times (e.g., bump caps, safety shoes, high-visibility clothing).
  • Perform production and process tool changes and complete the Tool Change Report, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Maintain and improve 5S/housekeeping standards during tool setups and changeovers.
  • Ensure material, tooling, and ancillary equipment availability, escalating any shortages.
  • Conduct material moisture checks per material standards.
  • Complete Level 1 TPM tasks without exception.
  • Ensure proper job start-ups, completing the start-up check sheet and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Patrol moulding machines to ensure production and quality standards are met.
  • Address quality issues and halt production if necessary ("STOP CALL WAIT").
  • Set machines and supporting systems to correct parameters, ensuring adherence to production KPIs.
  • Troubleshoot processing problems, making necessary adjustments with Technician or Technical Support sign-off.
  • Conduct daily machine inspections for maintenance issues, reporting as needed.
  • Log and report tooling, robot, and fixture issues, tagging tools with samples.
  • Participate in shift handovers and assist in covering operator breaks as required.

 

 

General Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure efficient machine operation in line with business KPIs, including Thingtrax OEE and shift job dashboard metrics.
  • Support company objectives for quality, delivery, and environmental policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
