We're looking for a Director of Transport Planning, in Birmingham, to lead the Development Planning discipline.

The Company:
The company is a leading development partner, acting as a one stop shop for multidisciplinary consulting advice on development projects, from planning and through design engineering and construction support.

With several UK offices and circa 500 staff, you will be joining a well established consultancy with an excellent industry reputation that specialises in the development consultancy market. They are seeking to double in headcount in the near future, hence, this role is due to growth.

The office is modern and appealing with a lively atmosphere in a central Birmingham location, easily accessible in a few minutes walk from terminal stations New Street and Snow Hill.

The Role:
As a Director of the Development Planning discipline, you will lead the offering of consultancy advice that brings new developments to life, across a range of sectors, varying in size and complexity.

The Projects:
The current working portfolio includes renewable energy, education, leisure, retail, hotels, industrial, commercial, and residential sectors, which will continue to grow as you acquire new business.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic direction of the development planning discipline in Birmingham, in line with the wider company vision.
  • Undertake Business Development to acquire new clients, while managing and expanding pre-existing accounts and Cross-Selling.
  • Be relied upon to provide full technical understanding of the UK planning environment to prospective clients.
  • Oversee bids for work.
  • Overseeing the commercial, managerial, and technical function of a development planning team, relating to the production of Transport Statements, Transport Assessments and Travel Plans.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders, architects, and engineers.
  • Data analysis and research.

Requirements:

  • In-depth working knowledge of the UK planning environment.
  • Experience in leading and inspiring teams of Transport Planners.
  • Extensive prior experience of authoring Technical Reports.
  • A proven record of winning new business in the industry.
