An exciting opportunity for an individual with experience in the rail industry, particularly in fleet management or contract delivery, looking to take ownership of a key role in a large, growing company.
The Opportunity:
A leading train operating company is undergoing a significant transformation by introducing a new fleet of trains into service. This brand-new role of Fleet Delivery Manager will play a crucial part in overseeing the maintenance and fleet delivery for two major contracts with key industry leaders. One supplier is still in the process of building the trains, while the other manages ongoing maintenance. The Contract Production Manager will ensure the successful delivery of outputs on these contracts, fostering strong relationships and processes to guarantee effective maintenance and operations. Additionally, the role involves working closely with suppliers to hold them accountable and ensure they deliver exceptional services for customers. The Contract Production Manager will also represent the Fleet team with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that the team delivers in line with business and customer needs.
Candidate Essentials:
- Experience working within Rolling Stock operations or a depot environment, with a strong understanding of operational requirements.Â
- Demonstrated experience in taking ownership of contract delivery, ensuring successful outcomes and meeting objectives.Â
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external parties.Â
Desirable:
- Previous experience working for a Train Operating Company (TOC) or Rolling Stock Operating Company (ROSCO), providing industry-specific insight.Â
- Experience in direct line management, with the ability to lead and support teams effectively.
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification, adding a technical perspective to operational management.
