Maintenance Manager/Supervisor | Nechells | Monday – Friday (07:30 - 17:30), Saturday (07:00 - 12:00, at least 2 per month)| £40,000 - £45,000 per annum + Benefits

Are you a skilled engineer with an electrical or hydraulic focus, ready to take the lead in a dynamic and hands-on maintenance role?

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Manager/Supervisor to join their team in their busy scrap metal recycling yard. If you have a solid engineering background and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this could be the ideal position for you!

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Skilled in both hydraulic/electrical systems and experienced with welding (MIG, TIG, ARC) and fabrication
  • Adept at fault-finding and able to work independently when required
  • Willing to work beyond standard hours for critical repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
  • Able to liaise effectively with management and other teams, keeping clear records of work and maintenance schedules

What will your role look like?

  • Lead and motivate a team, ensuring tasks are efficiently assigned and executed
  • Oversee repairs and fabrication work, including welding (MIG, TIG, ARC) and gas cutting for a variety of on-site requirements
  • Diagnose and resolve on-site hydraulic and electrical issues; tackle repairs on 360 excavators, forklifts, scrap shredders, and more
  • Work closely with suppliers, customers, and the management team to coordinate repairs, source quotes, and schedule routine maintenance
  • Ensure all work adheres to the company's health and safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organised work area
