Our client is a leading food manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK, this is their biggest factory employing over 500 people. Due to growth within the site, they are looking for a number of experienced HGV Technicians to maintain their fleet of HGV, LGV vehicles and trailers.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Working in a team of X10 HGV Technicians
  • Carry out servicing, repairs, MOT inspections to a fleet of 120 HGV rigid & artic vehicles
  • Make sure services are in line with company VOSA and DVSA standards
  • Use software based diagnostic equipment to repair faults
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs to fleet vehicles and trailers
  • Ensure all inspection, repair job cards and service records are up to date at end of shift
  • Maintain the upkeep of the operators licence

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Must have at least 3 years experience as a HGV Technician
  • City & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Craft / HGV Maintenance
  • Knowledge of HGV inspections and service scheduling
  • Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding & servicing skills
  • Able to work effectively & efficiently to complete DVSA MOT / VOSA requirements
  • Expected to drive vehicles around - ideally have a Class 1 or 2 HGV Licence
  • Beneficial to have experience of working on DAF or IVECO HGV's
  • Good time management, problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Must be physically fit - with no major medical conditions
