A global manufacturing business are currently looking for a Multiskilled Maintenance Technician for their site in Birmingham.


This is a shift-based role working on a wide variety of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.


Working as part of a well-established maintenance team the position will involve working on large planned maintenance projects as part of a team as well as responding solo to critical breakdowns.


Key aspects of the opportunity include:


  • Attending maintenance breakdowns or stoppages, working towards getting plant and machinery back into operation as quickly and safely as possible
  • Mixture of planned maintenance/maintenance projects and reactive maintenance
  • Working on range of equipment: PLC Fault finding and problem diagnosis on Siemens S7, pumps, drives and motors
  • Carry out maintenance on equipment during non-planned and planned maintenance shutdowns
  • Part of an engineering department of 20 with opportunity to progress


To be considered for this position candidates will need have electrical and mechanical maintenance experience gained within a fast-paced manufacturing or process industry environment. Electrical qualifications to NVQ L3 or higher are also required. Any experience of fault finding and modifying PLCs would be an advantage.


The position is based on a 24/7, day and night 12-hour shift pattern with extensive build in holiday. The position also comes with a company pension scheme, life insurance and an annual bonus.
