Job Title: Construction Lecturer

We are seeking a Construction Multi-Skills Lecturer to join our educational team in the West Midlands. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality, practical construction skills training to students. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the future of aspiring construction professionals by providing comprehensive, hands-on instruction in various construction disciplines.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching sessions in construction multi-skills across various levels.
  • Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials that reflect both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive classroom environment that promotes learning and practical application of skills.
  • Stay updated with current trends and developments in the construction industry to ensure relevant and up-to-date teaching content.
  • Participate in curriculum development activities to meet the needs of the students and the standards of the industry.
  • Engage with industry professionals and employers to enhance the educational experience and employability of students.
  • Contribute to the college’s goals regarding quality assurance and enhancement in teaching and learning.

The successful Lecturer will have the following skills and qualifications: 

  • Teaching qualification i.e. AET, PTLLS, PGCE, certificate in education 
  • Level 3 or equivalent qualification in teaching subject area. 
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour. 
  • Experience interacting with 16–19-year-olds in education or apprentice setting. 
  • Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths to adults online 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills 
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance
