Rate: £25p/h - £35p/h including holiday pay
We are seeking a Construction Multi-Skills Lecturer to join our educational team in the West Midlands. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality, practical construction skills training to students. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the future of aspiring construction professionals by providing comprehensive, hands-on instruction in various construction disciplines.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching sessions in construction multi-skills across various levels.
- Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials that reflect both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive classroom environment that promotes learning and practical application of skills.
- Stay updated with current trends and developments in the construction industry to ensure relevant and up-to-date teaching content.
- Participate in curriculum development activities to meet the needs of the students and the standards of the industry.
- Engage with industry professionals and employers to enhance the educational experience and employability of students.
- Contribute to the college’s goals regarding quality assurance and enhancement in teaching and learning.
The successful Lecturer will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Teaching qualification i.e. AET, PTLLS, PGCE, certificate in education
- Level 3 or equivalent qualification in teaching subject area.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour.
- Experience interacting with 16–19-year-olds in education or apprentice setting.
- Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths to adults online
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance
