Role & Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging, practical and theoretical lessons aligned with Key stage 3 and Key stage 4 Food Technology curriculum
  • Identify and support students at risk of underachieving and provide intervention strategies
  • Maintain a safe and organised learning environment, particularly in practical kitchen sessions
  • Teach and enforce health and safety standards, including food hygiene and safe use of kitchen equipment
  • Inspire a passion for cooking, nutrition and healthy eating habits among students
  • Participate in extracurricular activities such as food clubs, cooking competitions or school events
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress, attendance and lesson evaluations
  • Manage and order materials, ingredients and equipment within the allocated budget

Requirements:

  • A qualified teacher with specialism in Food Technology or a related subject
  • Be passionate about inspiring young minds
  • Proven experience working with children and young people
  • An understanding of safeguarding policies and a proactive approach to ensuring the safety and welfare of children.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills
