Reed Further Education are currently working with a college in Birmingham who are looking for a Health & Social Care Lecturer who is passionate about the subject and can inspire learners. They have a 22 hour timetable Mon to Fri that requires covering for a member of staff who is currently on sick leave.

Teaching will be held on two of the college campuses one in Bordesley Green and the other in Small Health. The lecturer will be required to mainly cover health and social care level 1 and 2 courses as well as 1 session of childcare level 1.

The roles are temporary ongoing during term times.

Job Title: Health and Social Care Lecturer

Position: 22 hours timetable

Role type: Temporary ongoing

Location: Birmingham - Bordesley Green and Small Heath

Salary: £26 - £28p/h including holiday pay

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and informative lectures in Health and Social Care to a diverse group of learners.
  • Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials that meet the curriculum requirements and the needs of all students.
  • Assess, monitor, support and record student progress.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students through a structured tutorial system.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of a range of educational programmes.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and college-wide initiatives.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with industry practices and educational methodologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A recognised Teaching Qualification.
  • Relevant Health and Social Care/Health Science qualification at a minimum of Level 3.
  • Maths and English at a minimum of Level 2.
  • Relevant industrial experience.
