Job Title: Health and Social Care Lecturer

Position: Part-Time/Full-Time

Role type: Temporary 

Location: Various sites across Birmingham

Rate: £25p/h - £32p/h including holiday pay 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Lecturing on a range of Health and Social Care course
  • Teach effectively on a range of programmes across the College curriculum, including timetabled lessons, cover, and delivery of modules or bespoke provision.
  • Prepare and utilize a variety of suitable teaching, learning, and assessment materials, incorporating digital technologies to enhance learning experiences.
  • Maintain up-to-date syllabi and schemes of work for all courses/classes taught.
  • Complete all class records promptly and accurately, including attendance registers and learner progress tracking.
  • Contribute to College and Directorate teams by sharing best practices and participating in curriculum development.
  • Attend and participate in parents’ evenings, open events, and other promotional activities organised by the College.
  • Follow all agreed Quality Assurance and Risk Management Systems and contribute to the establishment of a quality provision/service.
  • Manage all delegated resources and budgets efficiently and flexibly in accordance with allocation.
  • Undertake administrative duties required of lecturers, including admissions, enrolment, induction, and providing management information as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Teaching qualification (e.g., AET, PTLLS, PGCE, Certificate in Education).
  • Level 3 or equivalent qualification in the teaching subject area.
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour and interacting with 16–19-year-olds in an educational or apprentice setting.
  • Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance.
