Position Summary
You will be responsible for assisting in the day to day running of a busy rail depot. Helping Technicians carrying out routine maintenance, repair and fault finding on large state of the art, electrical based vehicles. You will also take part in electrical modification of certain components. Take responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional workmanship of oneself and others.
Key Responsibilities will include:
*Provide support to Technicans during Exams and Pre Planned Maintenance for Vehicles.
*Working on electrical systems, such as wiring looms
*Undertaking modifications and maintenance of rolling stock.
*Following VMIs (written instructions) to complete all work required.
*Performing light fault finding
*Preparation of vehicle ready for servicing, exam work or maintenance
*Preparation of vehicle ready to go back into service.
Ideal Candidate
A diligent professional able to work well as an individual or in a team. Relevant experience required:
*History of working with electrical drawings, devices and systems
*Understanding of electrical principles
*Computer literate and experience of using a maintenance management system for work recording.
Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 award in an Electrical discipline desirable but not necessary.
