**About the Role:**
The Highways Technical Lead will be responsible for overseeing the technical delivery of highways and infrastructure projects, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and compliance. You will work closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to provide expert technical guidance, manage project risks, and contribute to the successful execution of complex projects.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead the technical aspects of highways design and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Provide expert advice on the design, planning, and implementation of highways projects.
- Manage the technical input to project proposals and bids, working closely with the wider project team.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure technical deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Review and approve technical designs, ensuring they are aligned with client requirements and industry best practices.
- Lead the identification and resolution of technical challenges, driving innovation and continuous improvement.

**Key Skills & Experience:**
- Proven experience in highways and infrastructure engineering, with a focus on technical leadership.
- Strong technical knowledge of highways design, traffic management, and related software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects, including coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming project challenges.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.

**Qualifications:**
- Relevant degree or qualification in Civil Engineering, Highways Engineering, or a related field.
- Chartered status (e.g., ICE, CEng) or working towards chartership is preferred.
- Relevant certifications or memberships in highways or infrastructure-related bodies are advantageous.
