Role Overview

The Account Director will oversee and strategically grow a portfolio of Health & Beauty clients, driving success through innovative marketing campaigns and POS activations (temporary, permanent, and semi-permanent displays). Leading and supporting an account team, the Account Director will focus on maximizing revenue and profitability for Delta, while delivering exceptional client satisfaction.

Applicants should demonstrate a proactive approach in helping clients meet their business objectives and possess strong experience in client-facing roles, ideally working directly with brands and retailers. Essential skills include expertise in taking clients’ briefs and a solid understanding of 3D POS print and production processes. Supporting the Group Account Director, the Account Director will ensure the delivery of high-quality services, manage the team’s time and costs effectively, and consistently meet agreed SLAs and KPIs.

Primary Objectives

  • Ownership and delivery of agreed financial targets and operational services
  • Timely, insightful and accurate forecast & sales reporting
  • Strategically develop key client relationships, including senior stakeholders
  • Client retention and development, including cross-selling Delta Group services
  • Development and execution of client Account Development Plans (ADPs)
  • Leadership, motivation and development of the account team
  • Identification and sharing of best practice amongst the account management team
  • Managing and delivering projects from initial brief through to final completion, within budget and deadline and to the highest standard
  • Taking briefs on key projects and leading small teams to deliver on client requirements
  • Delivery of excellent client services
  • Building and developing excellent relationships with internal departments

Key responsibilities

  • Excellent understanding of the activity within their respective accounts
  • Actively driving the growth of your accounts, having visibility of the client’s budgets and performance
  • Timely and accurate forecasting of revenues in all clients
  • Maintain a close overview of all activities being managed by the account team, with a particular focus on the quality of internal briefing and the successful delivery of key campaigns
  • Ensure the account team operates to the commercial framework of the clients
  • Chairing quarterly & annual reviews including agreed Continuous Improvement Initiatives
  • Reporting on the delivering of services with the use of KPI’s and SLA’s
  • Ensure that clients are aware of our capabilities, strengths and have visited key sites
  • Management of the personal development of the team members, through appraisals, one-to-one meetings, mentoring, succession planning and coaching
  • Be the primary point of escalation for client issues
  • Building effective business relationships with clients and third-party agencies
  • Maintain good relationships with internal departments including Creative, Structural, Production, Despatch, and Accounts
  • Continuously keeping informed of emerging trends and market condition

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 10 years+ account management experience, working directly with brands and retailers on creative solutions linked to the printed production of semi-permanent POS
  • Inspirational team leader with ability to motivate and get the best out of others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to develop positive relationships internally and externally
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work to meet client and business needs
  • Commercially astute, understands how to drive revenue and profit
  • Excellent understanding of print production process for 3D printed point of sale
  • A 'can do’ attitude always focused on getting the job done to the highest standards possible
  • Ability to work at pace whilst maintaining great attention to detail
  • Good IT literacy, including good knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Provide clear directions and objectives in a concise manner
