I am actively recruiting for a motivated and skilled Structural Engineer to join a dynamic and thriving multidisciplinary civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Bishop's Stortford. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to take the next step in their career, gaining hands-on experience in a supportive and collaborative environment while working on a range of exciting and complex projects.

Key Responsibilities for this Structural Engineering role:

  • Assist in the design and analysis of structural systems across various building types, including residential and commercial projects.
  • Work alongside senior engineers to ensure successful project delivery, from initial concept through to completion.
  • Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and offer technical support.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other disciplines to achieve project objectives.
  • Contribute to report preparation and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Help develop innovative solutions for structural challenges.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this Structural Engineering role, you will need:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Ideally, 3-4 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, with a focus on building design.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, British Standards).
  • Enthusiasm to learn and grow within the structural engineering field.
