Platen Operator – Day Shift
OA is looking for a Platen Operator to join our clients dynamic and growing team.
This opportunity involves joining UK & Ireland’s top visual communications specialist, offering cutting-edge multi-channel marketing services to brands and retailers.
We’re seeking an experienced Platen Operator with excellent attention to detail and a strong track record of reliability. Previous experience in a print environment would be ideal.
Location: The office is currently in Waltham Abbey; however, it is relocating to Bishops Stortford.
Hours: 06.45am – 18.45pm (on a rotating basis): Week 1: Monday Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Salary: £13.00-£15.00 per hour

Platen Operator - Key Responsibilities:
- Report to the supervisor for work allocation and paperwork.
- Check job dockets and follow QC processes.
- Set up jobs and get supervisor approval.
- Perform quality checks and label finished work.
- Log job details in Optimus RDC and report faults.
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow recycling procedures.
- Report hazards and unsafe practices.
- Change blades and complete daily check sheets
Platen Operator - Skills and Experience:
- Must have experience working on Platen machines (ESSENTIAL)
- To effectively follow verbal and written instructions and raise issues that arise.
- Ability to complete paperwork in English accurately and completely, understand the importance of detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and individually.
- Self-managing and pro-active.
