Job Overview

The post holder will be responsible for the safe operation, setting and running of the Kongsberg machine ensuring jobs are completed correctly within time allowed.

Role Objectives

  • Ensure the digital cut files meet the specified requirements and process them on appropriate settings ready for cutting.
  • Ensure the machines are operating correctly and within their limitations, reporting any faults/concerns to the Machines manager.
  • Ensure the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance is carried out as specified by the manufacturer.
  • Ensure the data collection system is updated throughout your shift to record Quality, Cost and Delivery information.
  • Ensure the cutting department is maintained in a clean, tidy, and safe manner.
  • Dispose of any waste materials and chemicals/inks in accordance with the company recycling procedures.
  • Observe and always adhere to health and safety, reporting any concerns to the Machines manager.
  • Ensure stock levels of all relevant blades/router bits/consumables required to keep all cutters fully operational are maintained and orders are placed as required.
  • Work extended shift hours as and when requested to help maintain the schedule.
  • Assist in any other adhoc tasks as requested.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Must have experience working on Kongberg machines (ESSENTIAL)
  • Ability to the Kongberg machines to produce work of the highest quality
  • To effectively follow verbal and written instructions and raise issues that arise
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually
  • Self-managing and pro-active

Job Location & Shift Pattern:

  • Location: Role will initially be based at Unit 25, I.O. Centre, Lea Road, Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire EN9 1AS and move to Bishop Stortford CM23 4AS (permanent site) once operational
  • Shift: (Night shift) Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 19:00 – 05:30 (Overtime at flat rate Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night, can only do 2 out the 3 nights overtime)
  • Shift: (Day shift) 2,2,3 rotation 06:45 to 18:45
