This role is for a Merchandiser with a passion for detail, exceptional forecasting skills, and experience working with Far East suppliers. This Merchandiser will manage own-label ranges while driving success across catalogue and e-commerce sales channels.  

We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Merchandiser to join our client's vibrant team. You'll play a crucial role in planning and stock management, leading pricing strategies, promotional planning, and sales channel management while maintaining a positive work-life balance, working three days in the office and two days from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Merchandiser, you will work closely with Far East suppliers to manage stock flow and maintain strong working relationships.
  • You will lead on stock management, using data-driven insights to decide whether to reorder, discount, or carry forward products.
  • As a Merchandiser, you will steer and control pricing strategies, manage promotional activities, and optimise space allocation across mail-order and e-commerce channels based on stock levels.
  • You will ensure stock is managed effectively across different sales channels, optimising product performance on each platform.
  • You will focus strongly on forecasting, stock flow management, and optimising open-to-buy (OTB).
  • You will use your advanced Excel skills to drive decisions and optimise key metrics such as stock levels, sales forecasts, and margin targets.
  • As a Merchandiser, you will work closely with internal teams, including Buying, Finance, and Marketing, to ensure alignment on stock levels, promotional strategies, and product availability.

Skills Needed:

  • Proven experience in merchandising, ideally in own label ranges for mail order and e-commerce.
  • Strong experience working with suppliers from the Far East, ensuring smooth stock flow and effective communication.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyse data, forecast trends, and manage stock levels efficiently.
  • A hands-on, positive approach with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make key commercial decisions related to stock management, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, working collaboratively across departments and maintaining strong relationships.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude focused on planning, stock management, and driving success across channels.
