Senior Buyer - Own Label

Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire - Hybrid office based three days a week

This Buying role is for a dynamic and results-driven Buyer with a proven track record in sourcing and developing own-label products from China.

The successful candidate will have experience visiting trade shows in China, sourcing and bringing products to life to present to the business, focusing on margin optimisation and filling category gaps. You will ideally have experience in one of the following categories: Toys, crafts, hobbies, home and furniture, kitchen and household, garden and outdoors, DIY, or health and beauty. Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and develop a balanced own-label product range, focusing on price and quality.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, focusing on range-building, sample review, and negotiation for own-label products.
  • Attend international trade shows to establish new supply routes and strengthen the current supplier base.
  • Use commercial acumen to approve cost pricing and ensure products meet margin targets.
  • Deliver products aligned with seasonal trends and customer demands, managing timelines across the UK and Germany.
  • Maintain up-to-date commercial knowledge, with a focus on European trends.

Profile: A successful Buyer for this role should have:

  • Product sourcing and development from Far East suppliers
  • Visiting China trade fairs
  • Presenting new products to the business
  • Catalogue Experience catalogue planning, pagination layouts, and guiding marketing teams.
  • China Sourcing Expertise
  • Experience in attending trade shows and international travel
  • Experience selling into Europe.
