We're recruiting an Outreach Tutor to support students who are unable to access traditional classroom settings. This is a unique opportunity to provide tailored academic and pastoral support, helping pupils achieve their potential in a secure and nurturing off-site learning environment.

Role Overview

The Outreach Tutor will:

  • Support students with their educational and emotional needs at pre-planned, off-site locations.
  • Facilitate their virtual learning programmes and ensure they are prepared for lessons.
  • Create a safe, stimulating environment while building positive relationships with students who may face barriers to education.
  • Provide effective pastoral care to promote social, emotional, and academic progress.
  • Engage in extracurricular activities to contribute to the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities
  • Promoting Progress: Help students reflect on their learning, maintain a positive outlook, and meet agreed goals.
  • Behaviour Management: Foster good behaviour for learning through clear expectations and positive reinforcement.
  • Professional Development: Attend training, participate in performance appraisals, and actively seek opportunities to improve.
  • Communication: Build strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and the school team to support student success.
Person Specification

Essential Skills:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH or additional needs.
  • Ability to adapt learning environments to meet individual needs and break down barriers to engagement.
  • A caring, creative, and flexible approach to teaching.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Youth work or related qualifications.
