TeacherActive presently collaborates with a fantastic Hertfordshire-based speciality school. The school serves pupils from 5 to 19. For young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), moderate or severe learning problems (MLD/SLD), or other complicated neurological diseases, the school is a hub of competence in providing support and instruction.

To join this incredible and driven team, we are now looking for an Early Years SEN Teacher. You will assist with small groups of students all during the working day. excellent classroom management and the ability to recognise each student's unique needs. Prior SEND experience as well as primary school teaching experience are prerequisites for the successful SEN teacher. Along with the chance to advance both personally and professionally, you will have the chance to receive professional training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
  • Deliver high-quality, differentiated teaching to support the academic, social, and emotional development of SEN students.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff, and other professionals to provide holistic support for students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated with the latest SEN teaching strategies and practices.
  • Liaise with external agencies and specialists to support the diverse needs of our students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working as an SEN Teacher, preferably within a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN best practices and legal requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration.
