Role Overview: As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a variety of trucks and trailers in our fleet. You will work within a well-equipped workshop, ensuring that all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, minimizing downtime and ensuring the safety and reliability of the fleet. This role offers a great opportunity for a technician with a passion for HGVs to work in a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a mixed fleet of trucks and trailers, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
  • Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify and repair mechanical and electrical faults on HGVs and trailers.
  • Inspections: Conduct vehicle inspections, including pre-MOT checks, and prepare vehicles to meet DVSA standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all work carried out, including parts used and work completed, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians and workshop staff to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the workshop.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience as an HGV Technician, with a strong background in servicing and repairing trucks and trailers.
  • Qualification: A relevant qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software to identify and rectify faults in HGVs and trailers.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to work accurately and efficiently, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Team Player: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a positive attitude towards helping colleagues and contributing to the success of the team.
