Baggage Operations and Driver

HRGO are seeking a reliable and hardworking warehouse operative/driver to join a family run business on a permanent basis. In this dual-role, you will be responsible for loading and unloading luggage and transporting to surrounding areas and across London. Ensuring the luggage is delivered safely and efficiently back to its rightful owner.

This role requires flexibility, and a good knowledge of driving across and in London. Includes weekdays and occasional weekend/evening and early morning work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload luggage from vehicles, ensuring careful handling to prevent damage.
  • Transport luggage to and from various locations, including airports, hotels, and other destinations.
  • Operate company vans (Berlingo & Transit sized) for luggage collection and delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of luggage handling and delivery activities.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Adhere to all safety and security guidelines while handling and transporting luggage.
  • Perform routine vehicle checks to ensure vans are in good working condition.

Requirements:

  • Must be over 25 years old due to insurance requirements.
  • Valid clean driver's license with no more than 3 points.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy luggage safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a full 5 years referencing.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, with a half-hour break.
  • Additional hours for luggage collection and delivery outside of standard working hours, compensated with time off in lieu or extra pay, as discussed.

Compensation:

  • Salary: £24,000 per annum
  • 20 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
