Salary: £50,895 - £56,267 per annum

Overview / Summary 

Appoint Healthcare is partnering with a leading national provider of health and social care services for young people and adults with neurological, mental health, and learning disabilities. We are currently recruiting a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist for our 37-bed specialist hospital in Stafford, dedicated to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs requiring intensive inpatient treatment.

Our mission is to deliver compassionate, recovery-focused care, collaborating closely with young people, their families, and professionals. As part of the Mental Health Network and a key partner in the West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative, led by Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust, we are committed to the highest standards of care.

We use a clinically-led, person-centered model of care designed with input from a range of experts and feedback from our young people and families, incorporating evidence-based practices tailored to individual needs.

Our hospital includes an Ofsted-registered school, ensuring continuity of education. The facility comprises three specialised units, each supported by a dedicated, consultant-led multi-disciplinary team:

  1. Eating Disorders Service

  2. Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit

  3. General Adolescent Service


Role Overview / Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety, protect human rights, and assess patients' behaviours and treatment needs.

  • Develop and deliver evidence-based individual and group treatment to reduce problematic behaviors.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment programs.

  • Guide and support colleagues in implementing clinical psychology interventions.

  • Uphold security protocols, continuously assess and manage risks.

  • Maintain CPD as an HCPC-Registered Clinical Psychologist, ensuring competency in psychological and risk assessments.

  • Build and sustain positive relationships with colleagues, visitors, and carers.


Requirements

  • HCPC registration

  • BPS membership

  • Previous experience within a CAMHS setting

  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS.
