SRG are working with a global business in County Durham who are specialists in developing a range of household care products. They are now looking to hire a Senior Development Chemist to join their Technical Team, who will lead support in the development of both new and existing formulations, support in scale-up activity, testing formulations according to specifications and support in process improvement. This exciting opportunity will suit candidates who are experienced in leading product development projects in surfactant-based products such as household products, personal care, paints and coatings.

Role / Description

  • Leading new development projects to produce innovative formulations to suit customer and in-house briefs
  • Driving continuous improvement for existing product formulations, adapting to changes in regulation, raw materials or customer needs
  • Plan and organise laboratory activities, support investigations and upscaling activities
  • Support Quality Control (QC) as and when required
  • Ensure compliance in regulations, legislation and with regulatory, and health and safety procedures and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry (or similar)
  • Proven industrial experience of developing/formulating personal care products, household care products, paints or coatings or similar products
  • Have experience of senior responsibilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
