MTrec Recruitment are proudly representing our Bishop Auckland based prestigious manufacturing client who are looking to recruit a health and safety coordinator to join their team, initially on a temporary basis. Your task as a health and safety coordinator will be to provide temporary H&S support to the engineering and Maintenance department. This position is working on a special project for the business to update their machine procedures including lock out and tag out. If you have a health and safety background, or you are experienced in writing and updating procedures within a manufacturing environment, please apply for an immediate response.
The Job Youll Do.
Review/re-write or write Processes and Procedure (as applicable) and ensure they are properly imbedded in the department and in line with relevant local and UK legislation.
Check and validate the procedure in the manufacturing areas.
Continuously refine and update the procedure until you have the right solution.
Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workshop.
- Review machine safety areas and provide recommendations to the Engineering Manager.
About You.
- Ideally you will be NEBOSH or IOSH certified.
- You will have experience of working in a manufacturing environment and either been in a dedicated health and safety role, or you will have been in a role which has had some of the requirements of this opportunity.
- Ideally you will experience with machine safety procedures.
- Relevant experience writing SOPs.
- Good communications skills at all levels.
- Conscientious and reliable.
- Proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
